How can I be a responsible host?

As a host using our web or mobile platform to add hotel room listings there are certain best practices that we recommend to get good reviews from your guests. These are general best practices that allow both the guest & the host to have a pleasant and memorable room sharing experience.

Accurate Check-In & Check-Out details

As a host you have complete control on who shares the room with you. But it is essential that the information you provide in terms of the check-in & check-out dates are accurate because it helps us show your listings to guests only when their check-in & check-out dates matches with yours.

Being Responsive

Every time a guest reaches out with a booking request, make sure you respond within the turnaround time of 2 hours. Responding quickly shows that you are reciprocating the guest’s interest of sharing the room with you.

Commitment to Bookings

Once you receive a booking request from a guest you have complete freedom to approve or reject the booking request. But once you have approved a booking request, you need to honor your commitment and make sure that you have the room available for the guest. In cases where you cannot avoid canceling the booking, make sure that you give the guest sufficient time to look for an alternative hotel accommodation. Also all cancellations will be subject to the cancellation policies of RoomShare.

Complete & Correct Information

For both hosts and guests, making their expectations clear before sharing a room can contribute to a better experience for everyone. As a host, you can help guests decide if your hotel listing is a good fit for their needs by providing detailed information about what your listing has to offer.

Creating a detailed profile and listing page will attract guests with matching preferences/interests and help you earn great ratings.

As a host you have control over how you price your listing, but it’s important to set a price that balances expectations with what your listing has to offer. Setting a high price might deter prospective guests from sending you room sharing requests.
